Halo 1-4 Coming to Xbox One

June 9th, 2014 -

Microsoft announced the Master Chief Collection today at their 2014 E3 press conference. It is a collection of the first four Halo games in the series, all to help you get caught up and connected to Halo 5: Guardians. This is a little more than just a standard HD collection though. Hit the jump to find out what I mean.

The Master Chief Collection features Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4. Three of these games we have seen before, well all technically, but new to the bunch is Halo 2 Anniversary. Like Halo: CE Anniversary before it, the game features better visuals, as well as the ability to switch between old and new visuals at will. This collection runs at 1080p and at 60 frames per second, something Halo fans should be very happy about. Something fans should be more happy about however is the inclusion of all previous multiplayer maps from all four games. Want to play Halo 2 multiplayer, simply boot it up and play. Another cool feature is that each games multiplayer runs in its original engine. That means Halo: CE will feel like Halo: CE and not 4. Also included in the package is beta access to Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer and to the new Halo digital series Nightfall, which is being produces by Ridley Scott. Not too shabby. This collection will be available on November 11th for Xbox One (sorry 360 fans) and cost $59.99.
