Lessons In Retail… Learn Them!

June 10th, 2010 -

Lesson #1 – When a retail worker tells you that their store does NOT match their’s, or other stores’ online prices, count your losses and walk away. You know why? Hit the jump to find out.

The reason I say count your losses and walk away, is because of one simple fact. You whining and bitching about not getting what you want won’t change my answer of no. Oh, if any of you reading this post are wondering, I had this happen to me earlier tonight. I’m an asshole apparently, but that’s another issue. Anyway, back to my point. I’m here to school you on retail stuff. We are after all, The Retail Gamer (not for much longer the way we’re dropping though).

So the reasons most retailers don’t match their own online stores differ, but they all share common ground somewhere. Most of the time it’s because an online retailer buys stock in bulk, saving them money, which allows them to pass the savings onto you. There are other factors as well, such as consumer buy rates and such. All I’m saying is, don’t get your panties in a bunch because you get told no. Also, don’t bitch like a 12 year old girl in front of your 12 year old daughter. That’s just plain silly and you look like an idiot. Finally, show some respect and don’t stoop to the level of vulgar name calling.

So I’ll end it here. This was my rant of the evening (tiny rant FTW?). Hope you enjoyed it at least enough to learn something. Retail workers are people too. Oh, and if the gentleman who came in and got pissed because I told him no is reading this, I’ve got seven words for you: I don’t care, I just work here. Thank you.
