Double Fine’s PS Experience

December 8th, 2014 -

This weekend yielded a ton of great news for PlayStation owners, with Yakuza 5 finally being localized for the US and EU, Persona 5 being officially announced for regions outside of Japan, and Suikoden II coming to the PSN after years of fans asking for it. Several new games were shown off, and Uncharted 4 even had a fifteen minute video showing gameplay, but some of the greatest news for fans of PC Adventure titles were satiated by Double Fine’s announcements. In addition to the already announced Grim Fandango remaster (due out 1/27/15), Tim’s latest adventure game Broken Age will be launching on PS4 alongside the PC release of Act 2. The Double Fine published, Boneloaf developed Gang Beasts will launch next year when the game officially launches on PC. And the newest announcement (so new that the only news available is that it’s happening) is that Day of the Tentacle: Special Edition will be coming at some point. It’ll be interesting to see what lengths this is updated – will it be like the Monkey Island updates, or something else entirely? It’s wonderful to see such classic titles getting the chance to be played by younger generations, as they defined a generation for many. Now to hold out for Full Throttle
